Whatever happened to the neoliberal paradigm? Severely hurt by the failure of the Washington consensus, the kiss of death seems to be the subprime crisis. Industries come to realize that consumers and qualified workers are needed for sustainable growth- all of these coming from the long disdained societies.
In Germany, the strike in the railroad industry points to a new perception: instead of condemning workers for hurting national competitiveness, the wider puclic seems to have an understanding for claims for higher wages and better working conditions.
The situation remains ambiguous. Watch out.
